Since Remington has all but discontinued any ADL 700 Rifles, and since most of our customers are keeping theirs, we rarely get to discourse on the virtues of the ADL Stock over the more popular BDL. For safety's sake, the BDL is easier to unload, but an ADL is not a problem, a person need not chamber each round to unload it from an ADL. Most important, the ADL's full composition stock strengthens the action, provides the action a much more stable bedding arrangement, and generally produces better accuracy for these reasons. Here is one of the last Remington 700 ADL/S rifles produced, a Special Purpose matte black action in an ADL synthetic stock, manufactured in 2000 or 2001. This 700 has the key-locking mechanism for its firing pin on the left side of the firing pin housing on the back of the bolt. A pristine Bushnell 3x9x40 Banner sits atop Burris Steel Zee-Rings attached to tried-and-true Weaver Bases on the action. This rifle package is so close to mint condition that the scope still has its explanation sticker to the Fast Focus Eyepiece on its objective bell. The rifle's bolt body show very faint operation wear. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. We rate this rifle as Excellent, near Mint, since it has 98 percent of its original finish. The combination leather and nylon 1 inch sling is probably original to the rifle as well. We doubt this rifle has been fired more than 10 rounds. Replacement price on this package in the only available 700 platform, the 700 SPS, would approach $900.00. We're offering this excellent package however, in some points better than any replacement new gun to be had, in the venerable .30-06 caliber with 22 inch barrel, for only $ 479.95
