Meticulously hand refinished by James River Armory, a highly respected Civil War and military firearms restorer. This is an original piece with original Nazi markings and proof stamps, and with matching serial numbers on major components (re-serialized). This piece has a matched serial number rear sight, somewhat unusual. This rifle has an original laminated stock set with correct finish, properly cartouched for the manufacturer and year; original sights and bands, the front sight with the hood, correct for the year; correct butt plate for the manufacturer and year; original barrel in good shootable condition with clean and well-defined rifling; all critical areas inspected and headspace checked for safety by a certified armorer; test fired for functionality; all metal detail refinished in proper bluing and polish. Typical of Mausers at this price point, this one is a Russian Capture piece, carefully selected for authenticity and condition. The bolt has a hand-marked number in addition to the serial number.
