An outstanding 1st Gen SA Colt #283023 (1906) in the rare 41 Cal. Retains 95+% of it's Old Colt nickel. All matching numbers, clear markings, and keen edges. Full front sight and perfect bore. Action is crisp, true and tight. Old one piece elephant ivory grips that are yellowing with age. A Colt letter, included, states that the revolver was shipped to St. Joseph, MO in 1906. The letter also states that the gun was a 41 cal. 4 3/4" barrel, and blue. On the right rear trigger guard bow is Colt's refinishing stamp (star). No Doubt this Colt was sent back to the Colt factory in the '20's to be refinished in nickel. It has the old style nickel which is more pleasing than the modern bright style. There is little evidence of buffing; the frame screw holes are not dished out. The Colt appears to have been hardly ever used and is freah out of an old Estate. C & R license is OK.
