This Smith & Wesson .357 Combat Magnum, numbered model 19-3, spent a well maintained career protecting and serving our fellow citizens in the Bay Area of California. The historical context of its manufacture and issue, of course, was the 1960s Riots and continuing unrest in the form of intensifying Antiwar Protests. This revolver served, then, under the command of Governor Ronald Reagan. At some point, our guess is the early 1980s, it was professionally refinished with what we called Nitex at the time, a matte blue appearance Teflon-based finishing process that renders a blue gun almost as impervious to wear as a stainless. Grips are new replacement Pachmayr SK/G, period correct for any revolver from the mid 1980s on. Note the very sharp appearance of all markings on this 19’s surfaces. Surface wear is minimal, only around the muzzle and forward areas of the frame. and on the sharp edges here and there. We rate it as Excellent refinish, since no more than 10 percent of the Nitex is affected by carry contact by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Its chief detraction is not noticeable, but it might become that way. There is some very faint warpage to the left side of the top strap, from what we do not know. Visible blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is only moderate, a thin crease that traverses 80 percent the width of the top strap. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are bright, clean, and excellent. Double action trigger pull is exceptionally smooth. On all six positions, the hammer travels ten degrees after the cylinder times in double action. On single action, the hammer travels a full 30 degrees on all six, and the single action pull is an exceptionally crisp 2 3/8 pounds. Lateral play to the cylinder is minimal, no more than 1 to 1.5 mm, both with the trigger relaxed and with it pulled all the way. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a perfect .007, measured from the right side. Sights are black ramp front and black blade windage and adjustable rear. Trigger is .265 serrated service size; and Hammer is .375 semi-target, both with strong original coloration and minimal spotting graying on their sides, as the photos show. We are not gunsmiths; there very well could be some weakness to the crucial topstrap area of this revolver that might endanger its strength. We’re offering it as is, then, with no return privilege, for only $ 319.95. Not transferable to civilians in California, Chicago, D.C., Massachusetts, or New York City. God bless Mr. Otis McDonald.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
