This is the finest trapdoor carbine I have ever had. Ser #75559. Stock, rear sight and barrel band are the early1873 types. Cartouche and circle P are very clear. No cracks at all on the stock. The holes are drilled for the rods and the butt plate is the 1877 type. Bore excellent. High arch breachblock. Lock plate dated 1873, type two hammer. No upgrading at all!
This carbine has NOT been refinished, it must have spent most of its service time in an arsenal. So don't be confused by the fine stock finish, there is no grease or dirt rubbed into the wood. This is why it looks so rich and pure.
This model was produced in 1877 and around 2000 made. Ser. # 75559 falls within those returned from the 9th US Cavalry. This information came from the US Springfield Research books I have. I ca make a copy of the page I got that information, and send it along with the carbine.
I will email any other photos upon request from real buyers please.
I reduced this carbine due to medical bills.
Again, I have never had a trapdoor this excellent.
No FFL needed, the carbine is an antique.
I just reduced the shipping costs. I need to sell.
I ship UPS Ground to US addresses only.
I will double box and bubble wrap for safety.
