From its original owner, a Georgia collector, comes this pristine Thompson Center Renegade percussion rifle chambered in .50 Black Powder caliber. There is a lot of incorrect information on the ‘net, of course; we remember personally shipping Renegades in substantial numbers in the early 1980s. This one’s serial number is 191000 range. We estimate this T/C was manufactured in 1984 or 1985. Sadly, none of us kept records on our muzzleloaders from back then. Stock is genuine American Walnut, and barrels is classic 26 inch Thompson / Center Renegade octagonal, 1 inch across the flats. Caliber, of course, is .50 with the versatile 1:48 right hand twist that is accurate with all forms of bullets, sabots, maxi-balls, or even patched round balls. Surface detractions are negligible, only three or four tiny scours on the buttstock’s forward left edge beside the tang. We rate this Renegade as Excellent, Near Mint, 95 percent or better condition. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore and nipple area are bright, clean, and excellent. This rifle has been kept immaculately clean, even possibly unfired. The Renegades, sadly, are discontinued, and replacement pricing on a new Hawken is upwards of $800.00.
