Here is an attractive, serviceable specimen of the Chinese type 56 infantry rifle chambered in 7.62x39 caliber, that we know and love as the SKS. Manufacturer was Jianshe Arsenal in the People’s Republic of China, on Russian milling equipment and under Russian supervision. From its 7 prefix onto a 6 digit 100000 range serial number, it was manufactured in 1963, a year of building conflict in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam, where most of its production mates ended up. Importer is Inter Ordnance of Palm Bay, FL, so marked on the right side of the barrel alongside the M56 and caliber designation. Type, of course, is gas operated semi-automatic rifle. Construction is milled blue steel barrel, receiver and parts; and Asian Hardwood stock. Barrel is 20 inch, six groove right hand twist 1:9.45 chrome lined bore and chamber. Sights are hooded post elevation adjustable front with drift adjustable windage, and 1000 meter calibrated military rear sight. Internal hinged box magazine holds 10 rounds of 7.62x39 caliber ammunition, so 10+1 fully loaded capacity, and ammunition is readily available from us and a whole host of our competitors throughout the country. In our experience selling some 10,000 of these rifles locally in the past 30 years, accuracy is quite good, 2-3 inch grouping with cheap steel case ammunition. Bayonet is blade type chrome plated. Trigger group, magazine, bolt, cover, receiver, and stock cartouches serial numbers are all matching. Surface detractions are moderate, principally contact edge area whitening, stock scouring, and toning to the never blued bolt. We rate this type 56 as Good, perhaps Very Good, 70 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean, with no internal pitting in the bore and chamber. This is a well made, well preserved, historic and collectable specimen whose production mates popped caps at our soldiers in Vietnam [at press time on this ad, we had a veteran’s bring-back trophy rifle from the same period that indeed popped caps at our soldiers]. It spent its career in the Balkans with the Albanian Army. We’re offering it for only $ 359.00. Definitely C&R Eligible. Any personnel or ammunition showing in our photos is Not included. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $20 flat fee lower 48 states; $60 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, UPS Ground or USPS Priority with full insurance coverage.
