More than any of its predecessors, the Colt New Agent .45 ACP shows the positive influence of its under-credited Detonics Competitor. This is the smallest package yet for John M. Browning's 1911 Design. Colt Product Code is O7810D. It is both lightweight and very attractive, set of by close checkered double diamond design rosewood grips. This neat and lovely little pistol has a three inch barrel with Detonics type bell-nosed barrel and solid guide rod; it weighs only 25 oz Empty; finish is entirely matte blue slide and matte black anodized lightweight frame; sight is rapid response U groove; trigger is vented anodized aluminum; safeties are normal threefold main safety, grip safety, and firing pin safety; hammer is Wilson Skeleton type Commander Hammer; grip frame has 7-groove serrations on its front strap; capacity is 7 + 1 rounds of .45 ACP; barrel is 3 inches; and the pistol is furnished with two magazines. These pistols command prices upwards of $1,000 apiece in our area, if a person can even find one. Our NRA Instructor marksmen report superior accuracy from these against Kimbers, Springfields, and even Detonics. One of our veteran officers who owns one of these suggests the 1911 Ultra Tool for reassembly.
