Here is a well made version of Remington’s classic 870 Shotgun, the H&R Pardner Pump. Manufacturer is Hawk Industries Ltd. of Qiqihar, People’s Republic of China. Importer is H&R 1871 Inc., of Ilion, New York, a Remington affiliate. H&R factory order number is NP12S8. Type is pump or slide action shotgun. Construction is entirely steel except for the polymer trigger group housing, and the black synthetic polymer forend and buttstock. Chambering is 12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch shells interchangeably. Finish is weather resistant matte blue. Barrel is 28 inch Ventilated Rib with classic brass bead sight, with removable .703 muzzle Modified stainless choke tube. Tube size is the same as Winchester old style Winchoke, old style short Browning Invector, or Mossberg Accu-Choke. The barrel will NOT accept a Rem-Choke Tube, will NOT accept a Mossberg Accu-Mag Tube, will NOT accept a Browning Invector Plus tube. Capacity is 5 shots, 5+1 total on 2 3/4 inch or 4+1 total on 3 inch, and the 2 shot adapter is in the magazine tube, and works just fine even if the owner had it in ass backwards. Overall length is 48.2 inches; weight empty is 7 1/2 pounds with center of gravity at the breech face; length of pull is 13 3/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 3/4 inch rubber factory butt pad. Buttstock cants 3/4 inches to the right, so this shotgun is not southpaw friendly. Stock drop is 1 1/2 inches at the comb, 2 1/2 inches at the heel. Surface detractions on this Pardner are minimal, only a few light contact streaks here and there. We rate it as Excellent, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is a local one owner with low mileage. We estimate it has been fired fewer than 100 times, from the light streaking to the shell carrier and from our knowledge of its exclusive consumer owner.
