This is NOT an FN Rifle, but a quality remanufactured clone. Century Arms has reintroduced its version of the FN LAR in 7.62 NATO / .308 Winchester by manufacturing in House in Vermont with US and imported parts. Its progenitor was introduced in the early 1950s by FN in Belgium, and quickly became the definitive battle rifle of NATO and the Free World outside the Soviet sphere. The L1A1 is the British designation of the design. The FN was discontinued in 1988 although some clones, notably the Brazilian Springfield SAR48 series, survived past that date. This is a standard spec L1A1 with 22 inch barrel, 25 inches counting the flash hider and bayonet lug apparatus. System is gas operated with an adjustable gas valve behind the front sight. This rifle has its traditional, classic fold-down carrying handle and comes with a 20 round magazine. The magazines were readily available and relatively cheap until some time in November of 2008, when the present political climate began to sink in on the U.S. Shooting public. They are exactly the same as the new Kel-Tec RFB Bullpup rifle in .308. Century Arms has furnished a total of 4 magazines, 2 refinished and 2 used surplus, and we are furnishing the bayonet. Note the integral bipod with this fine machine. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
