Knife: Mayhall Custom Equal End Moose 1960s Tennessee Non-Guns > Knives/Swords > Knives > Folding Blade > Hand Made

Beginning in the middle 1960s, the late Mr. A. M. Mayhall, timber man and sawyer from Counce, Tennessee, began producing hand made custom pocket knives, some of the finest ever produced in our area. We obtained this specimen around 1970 from Mr. Jerry Cotner, veteran Water Quality Controller from Counce who personally knew Mr. Mayhall well before his death around 1980. This was the third knife that Mr. Mayhall ever made, an equal end Jack base pattern with opposing clip and spey blades reminiscent of the Case Moose Knife. The knife has been expertly sharpened on a high beveled edge no more than a half dozen times, probably originally by Mr. Mayhall himself. Blades are 95-98 percent full original width and thickness, and only bear aging spots that affect perhaps 20 percent of their surface. Brass bolsters and logo have their natural toning, and the handle panels are picked cast rough black composite, reminiscent of those found on the IXLs, highly treasured at the time. Note the distinctive brass maker’s logo in the obverse panel, likely the first logo that Mr. Mayhall ever produced. Blades are not stamped on the tang, that practice did not begin for this maker until about 1970. Overall length closed is 3 3/8 inches; and the main clip blade measures 2 5/8 inches from heel to point. We’re offering this excellent custom Tennessee-made Mayhall for only $ 139.00. We do not sell knives to civilians under 21 years of age. Most knives with blades over 3 inches are illegal to carry on Federal Property. All knives are illegal to transport on airlines. No shipments of knives with blades over 3 inches to civilians in New York unless we have a copy of your current New York hunting license. No knife shipments to civilians in Chicago or New York City. Knoxville Tennessee residents must furnish Weapons Carry Permit for fixed blade hunting knives or copy of Police Commission Identification. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $5.00 flat rate shipping lower 48 no matter how many a person buys. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
