This specimen of the Remington model 700 BDL Stainless is a little used, local West Tennessee rifle that comes to us from its exclusive owner. It sports a Leupold One Piece JR type steel mount, with Leupold Medium silver stainless rings, and a Vari-X II Adjustable Objective 4x12 Variable power Leupold Scope. Chambering is in the superb 7mm-08 Remington caliber, superior penetration and accuracy from a .308 case necked down for a .284 caliber bullet. From its KO barrel code, this 700 left the Ilion NY factory in May of 1994, only the second year of production for the 700 BDL Stainless. Specs are the same as the current production 700 SPS Stainless. Barrel, of course, is medium weight 24 inch, with graphite based DuPont synthetic stock that is impervious to weather. Trigger is serrated face stainless, adjustable, but still on its original crisp 3 3/4 pound setting it left the factory with. The owner was neither a tinkerer nor a reloader; this rifle has digested fewer than 100 rounds of factory Remington 140 grain ammunition. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint operation buffing to the bolt jewelling. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Scope is a 1997 production Leupold Vari-X II, 4x12 Variable with Adjustable Objective front lens and Duplex Crosshairs. From its 172000 range, E suffix serial number, the scope was manufactured in 1997, and this 700 is the only rifle it has ever been mounted on. Scope surfaces, lens coatings, and mechanics are excellent throughout. Replacement pricing on the rifle alone for the currently produced successor is well over $700 in our area. Replacement pricing on the scope and mounts exceeds $500 in our area. We will sell the scope and rings alone for $369.00. If the buyer does not want the scope and rings, we offer the rifle and one piece base for $519.00.
