Taurus handguns have always been excellent quality, and excellent values. We have sold them now for almost 50 years. The only drawback to the Taurus Semi-Auto Pistols is the pricey-ness of their magazines, like the One in the photos. Like Mec-Gars, Taurus factory magazines free fall eject, lock the slide back like they’re supposed to, and most important, failure is unheard of. Mec-Gar, however, does not make magazines for Taurus’s 24/7 series, so we are stuck with factory mags. Photos show one pristine specimen of Taurus’s part number 5-247-45 Magazine for any variant of the PT-24/7 Pistol that is chambered in .45 ACP / 45 Automatic caliber only. This magazine is specifically for the full size grip frame pistols that measure 5 3/8 inches from the top of the rear sight to the bottom of the floorplate on an in-battery magazine. It will go into battery and function just fine on the compact variants, but it will protrude from their grip frames, of course. Construction is entirely blue steel body, with steel spring and black polymer cartridge follower and floorplate. This magazine holds 10 rounds of .45 ACP caliber ammunition, down two rounds from the standard factory magazine. The standard magazine's number is 52474512 instead of plain old 524745, and buyers who reside in jurisdictions where those are permitted may sub the twelve rounders at the same per-mag price, so long as we're in stock on them, of course. It is compliant, then, with California Law and with the laws of jurisdictions where civilian Magazines can hold no more than ten cartridges. This magazine and its occasional mates were pulled out of California Compliant pistols that we shipped into other jurisdictions and subbed standard magazines. Surface detractions will be negligible, occasional carbon residue from factory test firing and insertion or ejection evidence where we pulled it out of the pistol. Brazilian Gunsmiths and workers at Forjas Taurus take great pride and exaction in their work, and they have done our largest Latin American neighbor proud. That pride extends to where their parent company is very proud of their magazines, as we say in the South. These magazines sell in the $50 - $60 apiece price range. Our single mag price is $49.00. We’re offering this fine magazine in the photos, however, in lots of 3 or more at only $39 apiece. Own 3 for only $ 117.00. Not for sale to residents of New York City. Any magazine deliveries into New York City require written permission of the Police Commissioner, so we cannot ship magazines into any of the six boroughs or 176 some odd zip codes, per NYC Code 10-131.10. Civilian residents of New York State are legally enjoined from loading more than 7 rounds into any magazine.
