The barrel is stamped with an upside down date of 01/42. The stock has a SA over GHS within a box and a set of crossed cannons on the right side of that box and a letter P on the hand grip. I had a friend who is a M1 Garand colector go over it to see if it had been altered. He first measured the muzzle which was 2.5 then the throat which was 2.0. He looked up all the part numbers in his book written by Duffy on WWII Garand's comparing each of the rifles part numbers with the ones in his book. He said according to the book, all my part numbers on the rifle were correct for the GHS serial numbers. He told me he could tell when he first looked at the rifle that it had probably never been worked on given that the op rod had never been modified or cut like the majority of post war M1 Garand's. He also told me the gun was quit valuable given it's condition as he had just sold a similar one a few weeks ago on this website. That was a year ago. This is the first time I've used this site.
