Remington 1903-A3, manufactured Sept 1943, serial number 3902-xxx. No import marks. This rifle is in very good used condition. All marked parts are stamped “R”. The bore is exceptional, both in appearance and gauge measurement – this should be a very accurate shooter.
The rifle has been disassembled, examined, cleaned, lubricated and test fired.
The receiver is parkerized, likely original finish, in very good condition. The barrel, safety, rear sight, rear sling swivel, front sight cover, extractor and magazine cutoff are also parkerized, of different colors than the receiver. All other metal parts are blued.
The metal parts do not appear to have ever been polished or sandblasted. Lettering such as “U.S. REMINGTON” etc is as sharp as new.
-Stock: G.I. walnut straight grip, no finger grooves, two recoil bolts. Markings are: “RA FJA” and acceptance stamp near magazine cutoff, “OG” behind grip on left side, 7/16” circled no serif “P” behind trigger guard, standard assembly marks in front of trigger guard. The stock has no cracks, in very good condition overall. There are some scratches but not nearly as many as most stocks of this age. There are a few small chips, visible in the photos. The buttplate is Remington small pattern, has some surface rust, easily replaced or reblued.
