The M48 Mauser is a post-World War II Yugoslavian version of the Belgian Fabrique Nationale designed Mauser Model 1924 short rifle which was produced under contract by the "Kingdom of Yugoslavia" beginning in 1928 and ending with the Nazi occupation in 1941. After World War II, the Yugoslavs took this design and incorporated modifications based upon Germany's Mauser Karabiner 98k. Although similar in general appearance to that of the German rifle, many of the parts of these two rifles are not interchangeable, especially the bolt and related action parts. The main difference between the M48 and the K98k is that the M48 uses an intermediate-length receiver. This rifle was stored in military containment and inspected once every five years according to Yugoslavian military policy. This rifle is in near-perfect condition with a shiny bore and a great stock. Included with the rifle is the complete accessory kit including the bayonet and scabbard, the leather sling to carry the bayonet, field cleaning kit, two leather ammo pouches, and the leather sling. There are import marks on the front of the barrel. This rifle comes with the original Mitchell's Mauser Box and certifications. It is my understanding the refurbished the old K98's, so technically not new, but new by the Mitchell Mausers standards.

Condition:
Bore appears pretty shiny, please see the pictures. Stock appears unremarkable. Bluing appears at least 95%. Overall, the firearm appears immaculate.
Markings:
on left side of bayonet scabbard, is a small stamp that is illegible. Possibly a foreign marking. On the right side of the scabbard is stamped, "90084". A small symbol is stamped on both sides of the front sight. On the left side of the barrel (near the muzzle) is stamped, "8mm Zastava Yugoslavia". Below that is stamped, "MMC S.A. CA 27377". Rear sight is graduated and marked with numbers, 2 through 20. On top of the receiver is stamped a crest type logo. Below that is stamped, M 48 A". On the left side of the receiver shows multiple foreign markings, letters and numbers. "47692A" is stamped on the right side of the receiver. "47692" is stamped on the bottom of the receiver, along with some symbols. "47692" is stamped on the bolt.

I offer a three-day inspection period on used firearms. If buyer decides to return the firearm, buyer must contact me by phone within three days of picking up the firearm from the receiving FFL dealer. Buyer will be responsible for return shipping costs, including insurance up to the full sales price of the firearm. Once I receive the firearm, I will refund the buyer's account within two business days.
