From its AY serial number prefix, this steel frame Harrington and Richardson Model 733 Revolver left the factory in Worcester, Massachusetts during the final full year of production, 1984. Sadly, revolver production ceased in 1985. This 929 double action was H&R’s Malibu, their optimal economy model that still had a true swing out cylinder. This specimen made its way to the collection of our favorite Obion County Member of the Tennessee Bar. This 929 is a somewhat ugly, but excellent quality, little US Made Steel Frame Revolver. Manufacturer was Harrington & Richardson of Gardner, Massachusetts. Type is traditional double and single action revolver with transfer bar safety device and floating firing pin. Construction is blue steel, with chrome plated serrated spur hammer; and with original black polymer grips and blue steel trigger strut. Cylinder is smooth face, recessed rear face 9 shot, .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges interchangeably. This little .22 is strong enough to handle hyper velocity .22s like Stinger and Aguila Super Max as well. Barrel is medium weight 6 inch pinned with steel rivet; smooth faced .318 trigger that matches the hammer’s width. Weight empty is 27.5 ounces. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint whitening and cylinder rotation marking. We rate it as Excellent, 90 to 95 percent vicinity by our estimate; photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Note that the rear cylinder face does not show any ping marks; this pistol’s owner had more sense than to dry fire it. We’re offering this fine little swingout H&R 929 for only $ 259.00.
