New lower price as of 12/20/23. Condition is used, not used as new, the GA site is having difficulty with posting ads lately. I have a Cody Letter that shows the manufacture date as Feb. 1901. Serial #106354. The caliber is 32-40. Octagon barrel is 26". Wood is nice, has some small compression dents and scratches. Rear stock has 2 very small spots smaller than a tack head where some top surface wood splintered off. Foregrip has 1 very small spot smaller than a tack head where top surface wood splintered off and also has a 5" long thin crack. Bluing probably isn't original but is nice. It's wearing a little thin on the fore-end cap. Magazine tube has several scratches. There are some light scratches in the receiver frame on the right side where the cartridge loading is. The lever plate shows some evidence that there may have been some very light surface rust present at one time. All the rest of the metal is in terrific shape. As I can prove in numerous photos that I will provide to SERIOUS buyers, the gun shows well. The action works ok but due to some replacement parts feels just slightly stiff. The only other flaw is that in the bore, a few inches from the muzzle, there is a small corrosion ring that I have had inspected by a reputable and competent gunsmith. He deemed the firearm safe to shoot and suggested re-inspection every 500 rounds. Being a collector's gun, and ammo at $5 a round, I don't think that is going to be a problem. I've put 25 rounds through it myself. The rest of the bore is frosty, but still shows good grooving. It's a pretty decent looking operational old cowboy gun for its age, and I have priced it proportionally to the good and the flaws. If this were in an online auction it would probably go close to $1600 and the buyer would just have to take his chances. With me, I'm upfront on things, and only expect a fair price, which I am sure you will find to be a little on the low side. I can provide a video clip of the gun in operation. I am not a dealer.
