Caliber 6.5x55 Swede. This is an original factory purpose built Model 38 short rifle. It is NOT a Model 96/38 which is a cut down and converted model 1896 long rifle. It was made by Huskvarna in 1942. It is all original with matching numbered parts. It retains over 95% original bluing and !00% original wood finish. There are some minor handling marks. The bore is like new, mirror bright and shiny with no rust or pitting. The mechanics are perfect. It is extremely accurate. There is a tin tag attached to the trigger guard. It has numbers stamped on it. It don't know what they mean. The tag can easily be snipped of with a pair of succors but I have left it on because that is the way I got it. If you are looking for a really beautiful well made Swedish Military Mauser in an excellent caliber that shoots great this is it. Really great rifle! Additional photos are available on request.
