The extra pistol grip kit is not included at the special $289 price; buyers, however, may add one of those for only $29 extra and no extra shipping charges. This Mossberg 500’s barrel, magazine tube, slide arms, bolt, and shell carrier – all its steel parts – are military parkerized finish; and the lightweight alloy receiver is black matte anodized. Trigger group and safety lever are polymer, and the safety is the traditional Mossberg top tang safety that is southpaw-friendly. Other specs are: slide action shotgun with side ejection and top tang safety; receiver disconnector lever, smooth faced combat trigger; 18 inch cylinder bore barrel with both 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch capability; magazine capacity 5 + 1 on 2 3/4 inch shells or 4 + 1 on 3 inch magnums. Buttstock is black synthetic, pliable high impact polymer that bends a bit during recoil and soaks up some of the shaking; plus, it comes with the factory 1 inch thick recoil pad, as the photos show. Forend is conventional semi-beavertail with checkered surfaces. This variant came to us on a special purchase, we only have a few of these.
