Here is a supremely desireable set of Smith & Wesson factory Smooth Target Stocks to fit the K or L frame revolver with square butt grip frame. Models included are 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 64, 65, 66, 67, 581, 586, 681 and 686 variant manufactured prior to 1996. Construction on this set is Brazilian Rosewood, oversize stocks with smooth glossy original finish. Note that the left panel has a thumbrest groove, but no speedloader cut. We estimate, then, that these grips were manufactured in 1974 or 1975. Surface detractions are minimal to moderate, some finish lizarding, and a screwdriver mark on the left panel next to the screw hole. Nickel plating on the logos is full strength, with the usual green tarnish that develops on them. Note that the right panel’s logo has some residue on it. We rate this set of smooth factory rosewoods as Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, 85 to 90 percent vicinity finishwise.
