Here are Herrett’s Grips for Smith & Wesson Revolvers with Square Butt K or L Grip Frames. Manufacturer is Herrett Custom Stock Company of Twin Falls, ID. Construction is entirely select figured American Walnut, with nickel plated brass logo medallions, stainless slot head screw, and brass screw escutheons. Finish is Semi Gloss laquer. Herretts Target Stocks are designed for a 4 inch length, 2.30 to 2.35 inch butt length, 1.45 to 1.55 inch butt width, and 1.360 to 1.380 thickness at the screw. They are ambidextrous with thumb recesses on both panels, and thin enough at the top to accommodate an HKS Speedloader. They leave the grip frame back strap exposed for better control and smaller circumference. The Herrett Walnut K L Frame grip will only fit a K or L Frame Smith & Wesson Revolver with square butt grip frame. That includes models 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 581, 586 and the 6 prefix stainless variants manufactured before 1996, when Smith & Wesson switched to round butt grip frames on most of their revolvers. They will fit current and recent production Classic variants of these models, but only if they have a square butt grip frame. For any shoppers who are not clear on the difference between round butt and square butt grip frames, we have included comparative photos. These will not fit an N frame revolver like a model 29. They will not fit a J Frame Smith & Wesson like a model 60. They will not fit any Taurus Revolver. They will only fit Square Butt K or L Frame Smith & Wesson Revolvers. Replacement pricing on similar grips often exceeds $100 a set.
