I got this nice old Colt, mfg in 1916, at an estate sale. It had the usual problems of the 1st issue Police Positives, the Grips were broken. I have replaced the broken grips with some new Sile reproduction wood grips that fit perfectly. The gun functions properly with proper timing and lockup. There is some bluing loss on the barrel, top strap, trigger guard, and the front of the frame because it had been carried in a holster for nearly 100 years. There is a slight bit of pitting on the left side of the crane in front of the cylinder but no other rust. There are 2 nicks in the right side of the trigger guard. They probably happened when the gun was dropped which broke the original grips. I can tell that this gun hasn't been fired much because the star shows very little wear. The seller told me it was his mother's great uncles gun that was given to his mother after the uncles death in the early 1960's. He did not even know she had the gun until they were cleaning out her home. I think it is reasonable to assume that this hasn't been fired since at least 1960. This should be a fine shooter.I will also include the original Sure Lock Police Holster made by E. De Mayo & Sons N.Y.
I accept payment only by USPS Money Order.
This gun must ship to a ffl holder.
