This is an Expert Model Winchester 1890 Half Nickel Rifle chambered for .22 short , long, or long rifle cartridges with a takedown frame in as-found, restorable condition. Rifle has a 20 inch round barrel with open sights. The serial number is 537766 which places it manufacture in 1919. The bluing on the receiver, barrel and the magazine tube has begun to thin and is turning to a brown grey patina. There are a couple of rub marks on the barrel as seen in the photos as well as various handling marks. This rifle came out of an estate and is exactly as I found it. The magazine tube is stuck and I did not apply any pressure to extract it. The bore is dark but rifling might be strong. I have not tried to clean it. The wood is completely intact however there has been an old coat of varnish that had been in a sloppy manner. Some portions of the old varnish can be seen on the nickel receiver and along the barrel near the fore stock. The nickel finish on the receiver and trigger guard is generally intact with some nicks mostly on the left side of the receiver. As far as I know the mechanics function properly although I have not fired it or run a cartridge through the action. Unlike most online auctions I have included many photos to allow potential bidders to fully evaluate the firearm. One should recognize that many of the close up photos are magnified and larger than life. Others photos may reflect lighting distortions in effect and color. Buyer to pay $18 for shipping and $10 for insurance. . A signed FFL or C&R is required for transfer. No sales tax for out of state purchasers but New York State residents are required to pay 7% sales tax. I have a walk in Gun Shop so I reserve the right to remove this item from auction if there are no bids and I have a local buyer.
