Offered is this exceptionally nice saddle ring carbine made in 1911. Caliber is 30 WCF, bore is mirror bright with excellent rifling, I would rate it 9+ on a 1 to 10 scale, no pitting or frosting. The barrel and magazine retain 85-90% original blue with a very few minor scratches. There is a thinning of blue just forward of receiver, see photos. A King dovetail blank has replaced the rear barrel sight. The receiver has 30% blue remaining, mostly a nice even silver brown patina. A Lyman DA sight is mounted on the tang. The Lyman has 80% blue, the stem elevation works freely, the vertical lock lever functions perfectly. The buttstock and forend are free from crack, chips and gouges, just a few light handling marks. The wood to metal fit is excellent and tight. The stocks may have had a coat of varnish a long time ago, it looks like factory finish to me. This is an early, high condition saddle ring carbine - one of the best I've seen in a long time.
