This is an 896xxx serial numbered Garand rifle which places production in Oct 1942. The barrel is original and dated Sep 1942 (stamped upside down as was correct at that time).. The oprod is uncut and the rear sight is a lockbar type. The stock has a very clear EMcF cartouche and ordnance wheel present as well as the "P" on the pistol grip. The trigger guard is the original milled style.

If you are looking for a true WWII Garand that appears to not been usgi refinished/refurbished this is for you. The stock has no repairs or cracks although there are some typical dings from use. The metal finish is pretty thin but it has not been refinished and the chamber is in the white. This is NOT an import, and there is no visible rust or pitting.
