From our Bicentennial Year of 1976 comes this specimen of the deer-killingest rifle ever made, the Winchester Model 1894, chambered in the venerable .30-30 Winchester caliber. This one's serial number is 44339xx, so it was manufactured during President Ford's final year of office. Original finish is strong throughout, and this 94 has all milled steel internal parts. Detractions affect about 15 percent of the walnut and bright blue metal surfaces by our estimate. Buttstock has minimal scouring and impresses here and there. Receiver bluing is exceptionall strong, but there is scouring and scratching to some extent on the left side, and one small superficially pitted area on the right side beneath the loading gate, with other residue here and there, including the sides of the hammer and under side of the magazine tube. We classify this .30-30 as a strong Very Good, but photos should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Uncle Mike's magazine tube sling stud is beveled one piece, very sturdy and appropriate for a 1976 rifle.
