From light duty security work abroad comes this very attractive 3 inch 6 Shot model 82 Taurus. From its UA860000 range serial number, it was manufactured in the late 1990s, one of the last before Taurus began putting the internal locks in. Manufacturer is Forjas Taurus of Porto Alegre Brazil. First Import was Taurus International of Miami. Factory number was approximately 2820031. Type is all steel, traditional double and single action hammer fired revolver. Construction is entirely steel metal with two sets of grips: an original set of finger groove combat including a lanyard pin. Barrel is 3 inches long, with six groove 1: 18.75 rifling, one piece with full rod shroud. Cylinder and rod are steel, capacity is 6 rounds of .38 Special and .38 Special +P ammunition interchangeably. Sights are barrel integral blade front with frame integral fixed notch rear. Trigger is .310 serrated face, with matching checker serration short spur hammer. Ignition is flat hammer face against floating firing pin with transfer bar safety mechanism. Trigger is .400smooth faced combat steel, with .375 short spur hammer. Double action pull is smooth and consistent 11 pounds vicinity, with a crisp 5 1/4 pound single action pull. Cylinder times correctly in all six positions on both single and double action. Lateral play to the cylinder is minimal. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a perfect .006. Blast effect to the top strap is minimal. We do not believe this revolver was fired more than 50 times. Weight empty is 36 ounces, centered at the trigger. Finish is polished blue laterals and lowers, with matte blue sights and tracks. Surface detractions are minimal, principally some streaking on the grips and occasional freckles to the finish. We rate this Taurus as Excellent Condition, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean.
