The serial number places production around March 1944. IBM had some of the lowest production numbers 346,500 of all the WWII carbine manufactures. These low IBM production numbers make IBM carbines more desirable. Wood is sound and bore is in excellent condition: bright, no pitting and sharp lands. Has sharp/clear IBM Cross Cannons cartouche on stock. Barrel band has no markings which is correct. Front sight is correctly marked: SI-B. Rear sight: I.R.Co. 7160060 which is correct. Barrel has no manufacture date which is correct for this time period of production. Magazine release is blank which is correct. Safety has the correct EPB stamp. Magazine catch is correctly marked PR-B. Stock and hand guard are correct IBM: stock with inlet marking JLB and hand guard SC-B. Bolt is IBM EM-B stamped bolt. Slide AOB stamp is correct. Trigger housing is IBM with a Q-TX; IBM hammer with AM-B stamp. Sear is marked BOB. Receiver heal is stamped AO for Auto Ordinance. Auto Ordinance was a subcontractor for some IBM receivers.
