This is a very clean Colt SAA made in 1898, so no FFL is required for transfer. In .38 WCF (.38-40) caliber with 4.75" barrel, the gun was shipped to J. F. Schmelzer and Sons, Kansas City, MO, on August 13, 1898. There is quite a bit of original blue left on the barrel and ejector housing with traces in other protected areas. The bore has strong rifling, is bright, with only scattered shallow pitting. Grips are gutta percha and appear original to the gun.
The gun comes with a fairly rare, vintage Abercrombie & Fitch, over flap holster made by H. H. Heiser.
