This is not your normal Colt Officers Model Special, though. This revolver was used by the Indiana State Police to shoot in matches all over the nation. State Police Agencies use to travel and compete against each other in shooting matches. These competitions allowed officers to become better marksmen. You will notice on the left side of the gun, where the right thumb rests, there is an engraving showing that this Colt was donated by Ford Dealers of Indiana in 1952. An Official Indiana State Police letterhead comes with the revolver also. This gun is very rare and was heavily customized by Colt. This is when they knew how to make a real gun. They don't make them like this anymore. This gun is in very good condition, but has minor finish wear on barrel.
