This listing is for 3 crucial parts to fit Italian Muzzleloaders imported by Navy Arms or Lyman with Octagonal Barrels, .50 or .54 caliber, whose barrel flats measure .415 across the flats. Manufacturer is Investarm of Italy; and the rifles have been imported chiefly by Navy Arms and by Lyman. We are including the front sight, blue steel blade type that fits a .334 dovetail across the top flat of the barrel. Rear sight is blue steel adjustable for windage and elevation, and we are including the full assembly as it sits on the barrel. Ramrod and ramrod thimble are included; the thimble rib is included as well, but note that this is a 23 inch barreled Carbine Barrel, so the rib will only work right on one of those. The Blue steel thimble will mount on any Investarm or Lyman Barrel Rib for this type rifle. Note that we are including the factory Investarm 6mm x .75 thread percussion nipple. Breech plug and barrel are included too, but note that the barrel is damaged and not safe or serviceable. Barrel was manufactured in 1984 according to its AM Italian Date Code. We sold some 500 of it and its mates between 1985 and 1989, when Tennessee opened its famous 3 week special muzzleloading deer season. Many of our customers mounted scopes on these rifles safely and successfully using competent gunsmiths. This barrel’s owner, however, was neither competent nor a gunsmith, so at least one of the scope mount drill holes penetrated all the way into the bore, rendering the barrel unsafe to shoot. The breech plug section is serviceable, but breech plugs are notoriously difficult to remove from the barrel. Even if a person has a Thompson / Center breech plug wrench, there is a risk of bending and marring the rest of the barrel. Removing the front sight from the barrel will be tricky enough. Here, then, are at least three interchangeable parts to fit Investarms Hawken style rifles, including the Lyman Great Plains rifle in .50 or .54 caliber. If a person has an Investarms Carbine with 23 inch barrel, then he can use the ramrod and thimble rib. Replacement pricing on the sights and thimble alone will approach $100. We’re offering the entire assembly in the photos, however, for only $ 49.00.
