This is one for the books, all you Ruger collectors. I am currently waiting for a factory letter with some sort of explanation on how the serial #217 ended up on a post flat top Blackhawk in 30 carbine with 7.5" barrel. MFG.#BKH31, This gun looks like it was not fired outside of the factory with almost no cylinder lines and only a faint telltail of carbon residue on the front of the cylinder. The box is in 95% condition but sports the number from another gun as well as the warranty card. Walnut grips and perfect bluing other than a handling scuff or two that looks like box chafing. I called the factory and they have no idea initially why this gun has the flat top era serial number other than it may have been a prototype for the 30 carbine caliber before production.
