This is the 1st gun produced by Tommy Haas SR. after he moved from Indiana to McAllen, Texas in 1949. Tommy Haas was legendary in his restoration abilities and pure craftsmanship of collectable guns. This gun was produced utilizing a 1st generation frame only (1878, 44xxx) with the remainder of the gun being manufactured by Tommy. It is in .22 LR caliber. He fabricated the ejector rod housing, barrel and ramp front sight from a single piece of metal. He also fabricated the cylinder from scratch. He guaranteed that there would never be a cylinder ring on this gun and there is not one even though it has been shot and turned. The action is flawless. The engraving and carved Ivory grips were done by his understudy/engraver Horacio Acevedo. The workmanship is impecible. The case is a "Borchardt Style" case fabricated by Huey Cases and has a leatherette outer covering and a French Fitted interior. The tools were also fabricated by Huey Cases and have Ivory handles. Look at the pictures and you can see the absolute perfection Tommy and Horacio were able to obtain back in 1949. The number "1" can be seen on the back strap surrounded by a petal around the 1. The barrel has the inscription "Thos Haas Custom Guns, McAllen, Texas". A "One of a Kind" example of the gunmakers art. No FFL required. Ships directly to you (Antique).
