This is .36 caliber with a 5 1/2" round barrel. It is an early model, serial # 1609, with the barrel marking of ADDRESS SAM COLT HARTFORD CT. The serial number matches on all parts including the wedge and grip strap. This gun has faint traces of case color and bluing. The grip straps are silver plated brass and the grips are one piece walnut. There is PAT. SEPT. 10th 1850 on one of the cylinder flutes. The gun is all original with an excellent bore and flawless mechanics. The guns comes complete in wood presentation case with powder flask, Colt stamped round and conical bullet mold, and nipple wrench/screwdriver. This is an excellent specimen of a Colt 1862 Police and would be a great addition or start to any collection. I hope the pictures will do it justice.
