1964 Remington 700 40X repeater in .308 / 7.62 NATO. It is in excellent condition. It locks up tight, and the head space is perfect (it has the tightest headspace of any of my 700s). There is no rust or any pitting and the bluing is in excellent condition. The only marring on it is where the front sight was mounted (I do not have the original iron sights) and there is a very light and small ¼” scratch about halfway up the barrel – you only see it if you look hard. It has a walnut stock (only a few minor dings on it) and the action is glass bedded and the barrel is completely free floated. It consistently shoots about 1/3” groups at 100 yds with 168 gr Gold Medal Match ammo. Everything on it appears to be original to the best of my knowledge (I am not the original owner). I do not know the round count (I have put about 100 rounds through it in the last couple years), but the rifling is in great shape. I think it is a medium heavy 27” barrel that is approx. 7/10” diameter at the muzzle. 30mm rings and bases are included. I am asking $1,300 obo + $25 shipping to your FFL. I am selling it because I have other 308s that I shoot a lot more and this just sits in the safe. Send me an offer if you are interested. I have additional pictures and encourage you to email me if you would like to see more pics. If you have any questions let me know. Thanks.
I will ship to your continental US FFL for $25
