Accepted Payment Methods: Returns: No Returns Description: This is an early serial numbered SMITH & WESSON MODEL 17-3 well used and well cared for. It is one of a battery of three S&W revolvers owned by a retired officer for many years as a formal Bullseye competition (Rimfire-Centerfire-.45ACP) gun. Serial number in the 6kxxxx range. This gun features the original Target Trigger, Target Hammer and Magna grips. Cylinder chambers are recessed; 6" barrel is pinned; Red ramp added to front sight. Condition is excellent mechanically and very good cosmetically, showing about 80-85% bluing, with no scars or battle damage. Many rounds through this gun but no wear to the cylinder or bore. Cylinder is tight and trigger pull is very smoooooth on both Double and Single action. Positive hammer fall. Cylinder indexes perfectly. Comes with Factory Box, Factory end flap label, Manual and original VPI paper. This is an excellent old Model 17 which had a reputation for accuracy and smooth action. It's also a top field/camping gun with ability to chamber ANY .22 rimfire round. Companion pieces will be listed on GunsAmerica as well: (S&W 17, S&W 14 and S&W 29 - all early models).
