Civil War Spencer 1860 Calvary Repeating Carbine early production 3xx serial number 56-52 Caliber rim fire, 20” barrel with three lands and groves, good bore with some pitting in groves but; shinny, original sight, metal and wood appears all original. This gun comes from a collector whose great grandfather was said to have been in the civil war but no photos or supporting documentation. Butt stock has usual cracks and chips (very old repairs) where butt stock meets receiver around hammer area. Gun is complete, fully functional and retains about 50% metal finish which has turn patina. No forearm band or indication there was one. Forearm held in place by two screws into bottom of the barrel stanchions. Additional photos available by request. No visible cartouche on stock or arsenal markings on barrel. Mfg. approximately 1861
