James Purdey B Quality Sidelock Ejector, 12 bore, 2 3/4" chambers, 1 1/8 oz. nitro proof, 28" Whitworth steel barrels choked .006 Skt. and .016 Lt. Mod., 15" LOP to a checkered butt, 1 1/2" DAC, 2 3/8" DAH, 1/8" cast off for RH shooter, 6 lbs. 10 oz., Self-opening action, ejectors, gold line cocking indicators, vacant gold oval, double triggers, straight grip, splinter fore-end, drop points, near 100% redone case colors and gold letterings, original barrels with rib lettering "J. Purdey & Sons, Audley House, South Audley St., London", highly figured exhibition restock by Jack Haugh. Excellent restored condition showing only a few minor handling marks. Circa 1907. Purdey began offering differing grade guns in the late 1870s with A as a best gun down to the lowest of an E grade. In the late 1880's an A grade was priced at 58 Pounds and a B grade at 45 Pounds.
