From a joint effort between the two greatest companies in our industry comes this Smith & Wesson model 990L Sub Compact, chambered in the commonly available, very effective, and relatively inexpensive .40 Smith & Wesson caliber. Its unique sear system allows a short, Quick-Action trigger pull that gauges in the 10 pound neighborhood. Frame assembly, manufactured by Walther, is high impact polymer with sure-gripping serrations and textured contours. Sights are readily visible three-dot, low profile with windage adjustable rear. Slide is satin stainless with XSE type serrations fore and aft. Mechanism is locked breech type with internal firing pin block to guard against accidental discharge if the weapon is dropped. Manufactured by Smith & Wesson, the black stainless barrel is 3 1/2 inch Compact; extreme overall length is only 6 1/2 inches; maximum height is 4 3/4 inches with the finger rest magazine in battery, but with the flat plate mag only 4 1/4 inches; maximum thickness is 1.15 inches at the disassembly bar, but the grip part of the frame is only 1 inch thick. Despite its compactness, this is amazingly good feeling, well balanced .40 caliber pistol. It is furnished with a total of two blue steel bodied 8 shot magazines: one flat plate and one finger rest. This particular specimen was never out of Smith & Wesson Corporate custody until we got it in the Spring of 2012. Fired brass case is dated July 7, 2005. It is in its correct, original gray-hinged flat blue box with instruction manual, 1852 Club Card, replacement mainspring housing back strap, and three extra front sights. SKU is 620233, so it is not transferable to California civilians. Replacement price on the parent Walther 990 is $700 or more in our area, if a person can even find one. Buyer will receive the SW990L Compact in the photos, however, for only $ 439.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California or the District of Colombia. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $12 lower 48; $40 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation.
