No revolver introduced in the past decade has created more interest than the Taurus Judge. The distinctive thing, of course, about these revolvers is that while the bores are rifled and they will fire the .45 Colt Cartridge, they will also fire a 2 1/2 inch .410 shotshell. The ones we have sold have worked flawlessly with US Made .410 shells, but they do not like Italian .410 shells. The photos shows one of the best performing Judges of all, the Ultra Lite in Matte Stainless with 4 inch barrel. This Judge has all the advantages in pointability of a 4 inch barrel with fiber optic front sight, but it isn’t nose-heavy like its steel frame siblings. The center of gravity on this variant is at the forward juncture where the frame meets the trigger guard. Weight is a well balanced 24 1/2 ounces; light enough to carry holstered for extended periods, yet just heavy enough to deflect felt recoil and muzzle flip. Caliber, of course, is .45 Colt interchangeably with 2 1/2 inch .410 gauge Shotshells, 5 round cylinder capacity. Type is traditional double and single action revolver, with transfer bar internal safety device and Taurus’s patented lock. Construction is matte stainless barrel, cylinder, and internal parts that match the anodized white finish to the alloy frame very attractively, as the photos show. Even more attractive are the traditional Satin Stainless .400 Serrated Spur Target Hammer and matching .400 Target width smooth combat trigger. Sight system is fixed notch rear sight with high visibility fluorescent fiber optic front sight. Taurus Factory Order number is 2-441049UL, and plenty of supplemental information is available at Taurus com. Replacement pricing on this revolver is upwards of $600 per unit in our area, if a person can even find one. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
