A rare model 64 with a true 20 inch carbine barrel, the front sight ramp is intregaly forged with the barrel. Caliber is 30 W.C.F. This Winchester was made in 1935, the third year of production for the Model 64. The sights are correct for the 64, the front is a Lyman 31W with hood and the rear is a Winchester 22H with a 3C elevator. The bore is like new, bright, shiny condition with sharp rifling. The metal was professionally reblued at some time in the past and is still in excellent 95-98% condition. The buttstock and forearm are excellent, there are no cracks or gouges. The finish is excellent and may have been revarnished. The wood stands proud above all metal surfaces and doesn't show evidence of ever being sanded. There were side swivels at some point that look like those on Winchesters made for service in the Belgian Congo (see Madis Winchester Book). The swivels have been removed and fillers have been neatly inletted in place. See photos for details. This is a true carbine and not a cut down rifle.
