Description:
L.C. Smith Specialty Grade 12 Gauge sn215511E ULTRALIGHT 6LBS. 7OZ., CONDITION!
How many American vintage doubles have you ever seen under 7lbs.? On rare occasion you find a 6 3/4lb. 12 bore. In 15 years of chasing American doubles I have seen 5 under 6 3/4lbs. and I have 2 of them for sale (the other is a Parker DH 12 on a #1 frame weighing 6lbs. 10oz.) right now. This Elsie, sn 215511E made in 1912 (the very beginning of the Specialty Grade and you can tell, as the engraving is superior to later guns), is in nice factory original condition and WEIGHS LESS THAN MOST ALL ELSIE 16 OR 20 GAUGE GUNS! If you can carry a 12 bore that weighs the same as a 20 gauge you have the ideal upland gun; easy to carry all day and with superior patterns and short shot strings. This gun is special; condition, ejectors, single selective trigger, nicely figured wood, and ultra-light weight makes it a one-of-a-kind, investment quality shotgun. When you consider a Purdey Lightweight Game gun costing over $100K weighs the same as this Elsie you get the idea of its value.

I am asking a premium for this gun and you may ask "why?". There are many 12ga. Specialty guns for less money out there, but they lack condition, have replaced or restored parts, short stocks, heavy weights, etc. I CAN SAFELY SAY YOU WILL NOT LIKELY ENCOUNTER ANOTHER ELSIE LIKE THIS ONE. IT HAS NICE FACTORY CONDITION, PERFECT MECHANICALS, DESIRABLE OPTIONS, AND WEIGHS 6LBS. 7OZ.!!! A good friend of mine, since past on to the great hunting grounds in the sky, used to say "Where you gonna find another one?" Don't let this one pass you by. You will not likely see another like it.
There are more photos upon request. There is a 30 day mechanical warranty on this gun. Please see my other fine Vintage Firearms on this website. Just click on the line that says "see all items from this seller" and a great list of collectible and sporting arms will appear. I have over 80 guns not yet listed, so if you don't see what you seek, ask. Thanks for looking! SEE US AT L’VILLE AND THE VINTAGERS IN RHODE ISLAND THE LAST WEEKENDS OF SEPTEMBER.
