Construction is stainless steel barrel and slide, with steel levers, internal parts, and magazine body all housed in a high impact polymer frame. Metal finish is wear and weather resistant black Melonite. Barrel is 4 1/4 inch, 6 groove, 1:16 right hand twist. Slide has lateral serrations fore and aft, with dovetailed front and rear melonite steel Trijicon factory Night Sights, drift adjustable for windage, but point of aim from the factory. Sight radius is 6 1/4 inches. Trigger is .350 smooth faced two piece, with a consistent 6.5 pound trigger pull that only travels .300 inches from rest to fire and resets in only .14 inches. Frame incorporates a three slot Picatinny rail for optics or lights. Grip frame has stippled surface front strap, with replaceable back strap piece and two additional back straps that will accommodate a wide array of hand sizes. Magazine release is reversible, and as easy to change over as a Beretta 92. This M&P 45 variant incorporates the trigger safety, firing pin safety, and even a magazine safety so that it will not fire single shot with the magazine removed. Chambering, of course, is .45 ACP, and this pistol comes with two factory 10 round magazines, fully loaded capacity of 10 + 1. Weight empty, no magazine, is 27.7 oz; weight fully loaded will be a bit over 30 ounces. Maximum overall length is 7.5 inches; 5 3/8 inch height; and very nice thin 1.2 inch width. The M&P series takes all comers for ease of handling, positive feel, and reliability and consistency under the most adverse field and combat situations. This particular MP45 served for four years with the distinguished officers of the Guilford Connecticut Police Department. It comes in its original box, with both extra interchangeable mainspring housing grip backstrap covers, a total of two factory 10 shot magazines, an instruction manual, never executed factory registration card; and its fired brass case dated from 2009. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint amounts of holster contact whitening on the slide and sight edges, and faint occasional finish freckling on its slide. We rate it as Excellent, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. Night sights are fully luminous. This M&P 45 variant commands retail prices in our area upwards of $700 apiece, if a person can even find one.
