Ruger Mini-14 .223 HIGH-CAPACITY-CAPABLE Rifle - Made in 1980 - Upgraded Guns > Rifles > Ruger Rifles > Mini-14 Type
Description: Mini-14 .223 cal. earlier rifle. SN: 182-00332; made in 1980 - confirm at. Does not appear to have fired a large volume of rounds. Ruger factory-original 5-rd., blued steel, flush-fit magazine w/black plastic base plate; no signs of wear or use on mag, though it may have been used in firing; finish looks like new. Slight wear/loss of bluing on the top front of bolt end, very light wear/bluing loss on top rear bolt end (flange), and no blemishing/wearing off of the bluing in operating handle raceway. Has rear blade aperture sight, windage/elevation adjustable. Front sight is a fixed serrated ramp blade, painted yellow for better visibility. Wood: several minor dings/shallow indentations (no scratches) from handling, but are not easily noticeable, except upon close inspection. I purchased this Ruger Mini-14 from a police officer who had it modified to include the following:

1) Extended (thicker), hole-cushioned rubber butt pad to replace thinner, shorter factory hard plastic butt plate, thus increasing length of pull, which is more comfortable, with better holding quality, for shooters with longer arms.

2) Scope and scope mount: it has a black B-Square left side-mounted scope mount (conveniently removable, using the large widely-/deeply-slotted thumbwheel screw) with a mounted polished, black Bushnell 3-9 power Sportview scope (no adjustable front objective for parallax adjustment), with plastic removable front and rear lens covers that are connected by 2 elastic cords; external condition of the scope is very good (but, has some very slight, short scratches in the finish on the lower right underside that are visible only upon close inspection when the rifle is turned upside down).

3) Flash hider {slipped over the muzzle and pinned to the front sight) that is long-slotted (but, with no slot on the bottom, so as not to kick up dust/dirt when firing prone).

4) Upper black composite handguard, large-air ventilation slots (8) for improved (compared to unvented factory handguard) air cooling to more effectively and quickly dissipate barrel heat caused especially from rapid firing; plus, the handguard adds to the "tactical" appearance.

5) Sling-swivel, with quick-release button, installed on a stud screwed into the left rear side of the buttstock. The second sling swivel is attached to what appears to be a lower-half barrel-to-stock retainer band that is steel and which has a horizontal hole through the bottom, through which a round-headed stud and screw hold a matching quick-detachable sling swivel that rotates to the left side of the stock, so that the sling is located on the left side, enabling the gun to be carried "flat-sided" with the forestock against the back, as opposed to center stock-mounted slings that hold the narrower bottom of the forestock against the carrier's back.

6) Harris 1A Ultralight (attached) blued bipod with extendable legs and rubber cups on the ends; high-quality, well-built bipod...very useful for bench rest/target shooting and varmint hunting, i.e., when steadiness of hold is crucial for accurate shots.

Reason for "No Return" policy is that gun is completely and honestly as described in this ad and as shown in the photos.

Thanks for visiting my ad.

P.S. Because of the extended overall length of the rifle, due to butt pad and flash hider accessories, I will need to have the UPS Store make a shipping box to fit it...thus, the higher-than-usual $40 shipping charge (that includes the UPS box-making charge).
