Here is Mossberg’s 500 Flex shotgun, at once attractive and inconspicuous in the woods or duck blind. Manufacturer and warrantor is O.F. Mossberg & Sons of New Haven, CT, and Eagle Pass, TX. Model is 500 Flex Camo. Type is pump or slide action shotgun. Construction is steel barrel and working parts all built into an alloy receiver, with Flex® rapidly removable stock and forend system. Stock and forend finish is checkered surface Mossy Oak Breakup Infinity® camo. Metal finish is OD Green Cerakote barrel and receiver, with matte black trigger group, safety, bolt and shell carrier. Trigger is .292 LPA set type trigger that pulls on 4 1/2 pound vicinity with minimal felt creep. Safety is top tang type. Barrel is 3 inch chambered blued steel 24 inch Ventilated Rib, with 16 Ports for felt recoil reduction. Choke tube is .670 vicinity extended extra super full lead shot only. Accu-choke tubes are commonly available throughout the country. Sight system is 10 post serrated top Ventilated Rib with red fiber optic rear and green fiber optic front sight. Magazine holds 5 rounds of 2 3/4, or 4 round of 3 inch, shells. The 500 will digest slugs with a correct .715 vicinity choke tube. Weight empty is 7 1/2 pounds, with center of gravity about 1 inch forward of the receiver. Buttstock measures 13 3/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 7/8 inch removable Flex® rubber factory recoil pad. Stock drop is 1 1/2 inches at the comb, and 2 1/2 inches at the butt, with a right hand cant of about 3/4 inch. Overall length is a quick handling 42.9 inches. This 500 flex and its mates come to us from Mossberg’s distribution system. Each has served light duty, likely with a sales rep or writer. We call them demos. Each one has the letter U stamped near its serial number. Surface detractions are negligible to minimal on this shotgun, as its photos show. We rate them as Excellent, 90 to 95 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. Each number 55122 Flex® comes in a relabeled Mossberg Factory Box with factory lock, instruction manual with 10 year warranty statement, NSSF and NRA flyers.
