Construction is steel barrel, magazine tube, bolt, forend iron, trigger, and internal parts; with alloy trigger group, safety tab, and receiver; and with polymer stock and forend. Finish is military parkerized steel and matching black anodized alloy. Barrel is 18 1/2 inch heavy type, .930 outside diameter at the muzzle, with .10 wall thickness at that point. Bore is straight wall, not back bored, with a .730 vicinity Cylinder Bore muzzle diameter. Sight is hex base brass bead front. All 12 and 20 gauge Mossberg receivers are drilled for Weaver #88 or 417 size optics bases or Mossberg 96200 rails for any Picatinny type light or optical device. Chambering is 2 3/4 inch or 3 inch 12 gauge shells interchangeably, with a magazine capacity of 5+1 on 2 3/4 inch, and 4 + 1 on 3 inch. Forend is vented and slotted, laterally and underneath, with raised rib lowers and off hand shields. It is compatible with a whole host of M-Lok Magpul rails and accessories. Magazine cap is threaded for sling stud, not included. Buttstock has lateral sling slots, and is Magpul modular as well, with removable M-Lok components. Length of pull is 13 1/4 inches, with removable half inch spacers all the way down to 12 1/4 inch l-o-p. Spacers are readily available to increase the LOP, as well as cheek pieces to adjust the standard 1.5 x 2.5 drop. Weight empty is 7 pounds 2 ounces, center of gravity at the breech face. Over all length is 37 1/2 inches. This 590A1 comes to us from Mossberg’s distribution system. We call it a factory demo. It served light duty, likely with sales reps or writers. The letter U is stamped near its serial number. Surface detractions are minimal, principally faint occasional operation and handling wear, really no more than one often sees on new display guns across the country.
