Description:
Smith & Wesson Serialization is often enigmatic. This 357 Magnum Military & Police Stainless, numbered model 65-2, has an AYC Serial number prefix. AYW guns were manufactured in 1986 and 1987, but all those were 65-3 variants. The 65-3 change took effect in 1982, so we date this specimen to that year. It is a fully traditional Bangor Punta Pinned Barrel model 65, second engineering change, with the Satin Stainless .265 serrated service hammer and smooth faced .312 Satin Stainless Combat Trigger. Grip frame is true square butt. This Model 65 comes to us from the collection of our favorite Kansas Lawman. It has undergone some polishing during its life, but Matte area atop the barrel and frame exhibit moderate holster buffing, but matte texture is still strong. Safariland Combat Grips are period correct, manufactured in the early 1980s. We rate this revolver as Very Good, since we estimate that 80 percent of its finish is free of detractions; but photos should suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is Excellent mechanically. Blast effect to the underside of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is minimal, only a faint etchy shallow thin impress that traverses about 80 percent of the width of the top strap. This revolver has not had many magnum loads fired through it. Lateral play to the cylinder is minimal, less than 1mm total movement by our estimate, both with the trigger relaxed and with it pulled. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the hammer travels an exceptional 20 degrees after the cylinder times in all six positions on double action. On single action, the hammer travels fully 35 degrees on all six after the cylinder times, and the single action trigger pull is a crisp original 3 1/2 pounds. Bore and cylinder chambers are bright, clean, and excellent. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a perfect .007 This is a very well constructed, eminently serviceable Smith & Wesson Magnum. We are including a North Carolina Department of Corrections left hand duty holster. Own this attractive, eminently serviceable S&W 65-2 for only $ 439.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, the District of Colombia, or Massachusetts.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
