Description: Here is a historic FN Browning shotgun, despite its looks. From farm pest control service on a Kibbutz in the Land of Israel comes this Auto Five Standard Weight Shotgun. Manufacturer was Fabrique Nationale D'Armes De Guerre, Herstal – Belgique, and so marked on its barrel. Serial number is 599600 range, 1959 Production. Auto Fives manufactured for consumption outside the US did not always hew to Browning's 1954 numbering scheme. Recent importer from Israel had to stamp it on the right side receiver in compliance with US Law. Type is John M. Browning design recoil operated semi automatic shotgun. Construction is entirely steel metal with only a brass friction ring. Stock and forend are European Walnut. Chambering is for 2 3/4 inch shells only, with Browning’s brass and steel friction rings that are adjustable for light to heavy load shells. Receiver, barrel, and parts interchange with old standard weight Auto Fives, not with the later Light Twelves. Barrel itself is marked, Acier Special; with a mismatched but original serial number. It measures 29 1/2 inches, nominally 30 inch, with .687 muzzle diameter fixed full choke, and correct asterisk marking. Sights are brass bead front supported by a welded steel base, to match the serrated receiver top rear. Magazine is white steel, Capacity is 4 + 1, or 2 + 1 with a plug or 3 shot adapter. Trigger is .260 smooth faced, pulls at 4 pounds with minimal felt creep and overtravel. Safety is later style right hand shooter behind the trigger. Buttstock is original round knob lightning type; length of pull is 14 1/2 inches, with a drop of 1 1/2 inches at comb and 2 1/2 inches at the heel. It has a 3/4 inch right hand cast. Weight empty is 8 pounds 2 ounces, with the center of gravity under the bolt handle. Finish was originally matte surface blued. Metal is a mixture of gun metal gray and brown toning, some of it etchy. Forend edge has two repaired cracks and a flake. Buttstock has wear from refinishing, but only two brief hairline cracks behind the upper tang that do not show any separation. Receiver's left side has four Kibbutznik tap holes where an optics device was fitted, probably a Weaver Quick Point. Surface detractions, then, are only moderate to extensive on this shotgun. We rate it as Fair, perhaps Good / Repairs Condition; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. The Kibbutzniks may have neglected the exterior, but the bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We have test fired this shotgun with Remington Express ammunition, and no hitches. Its Israeli domicile enhances its collectability. We're offering the shotgun in the photos for only $ 239.00.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
