Very nice match grade bolt action single shot rifle built on a Japanese Arisaka action with custom bull barrel and vintage Redfield 3200 12X target/varmint scope. (The Redfield scope itself is a $400 to $700 value.) It is chambered in .240 Weatherby Magnum in a 28.25” heavy barrel (maker unknown), with one in 12” rifling twist, and with what appears to be a custom made match grade trigger (If anyone recognizes it as a shop made trigger, let me know). The barrel measures 1” diameter at the target crowned muzzle and has a fine bore. This was a custom rifle built in 1985 by Giles N. Alkire, Jr., of Greeley, Colorado (“marked G. N. Alkire, Jr” with year of manufacture under fore arm). The Monte Carlo stock is walnut with a 13 and 5/8” length of pull. The action is not glass bedded, but has one of the best inletting jobs I’ve come upon. It takes some effort to get the barreled action out of the stock. It weighs very close to 15.5 pounds overall. A set of RCBS .240 Weatherby Magnum dies goes with the gun.
